Serge Schiffmann - Larry J. Young - Jean-Marie Delwart
The 2010 Jean-Marie Delwart Foundation Award in Comparative and Evolutionary Neurosciences has been shared by Professor Nicola S. Clayton from the University of Cambridge, UK and by Professor Larry J. Young from Emory University, Atlanta, USA. Nicola S. Clayton was one of the very first to demonstrate and comparatively analyze neurophysiological mechanisms underlying cognitive processes as spatial memory and episodic memory in corvids and primates. Larry J. Young’s studies allowed to elucidate, in a evolutionary perspective, the molecular determinants of some social behaviours as social bound and mono- versus polygamy.
